Water Guide : Water Facts

A average human being can survive without any food for around 5 weeks ( 30 - 40 days ), but without any water, life will end at the 3rd or 5th day......
Although water consumption varies from person to person, an average human body consists of 70% water and is needed for nearly every single bodily process which would include digestion, absorption, circulation and excretion.
Not only does it engage in numerous functions, it also helps in the regulation of the body's temperature and is needed to carry waste materials out of the body, thus it is importatnt to replace water that has been lost through sweating and elimination.

When the overall content of water in the body is dropped, it will also result in lowering of blood volume which in turns triggers hypothalamus and triggers the brain to send out a 'thirst signal' to the body to demand a drink of water. This is due to the increase in the sodium levels which causes a person to feel thirsty. But often, most people would only drink to quench the thirst and not fully replace the water loss. And this would result in them becoming dehydrated. This is cumulative and thus effects and signs would show when we get older and thus it is important to consume water even when we are not thirst.

Without enough intake of water, we could posion ourselves with our own metabolic wastes! Chemcials like uric acid, urea and lactic acid is processed by the kidneys and are in need of water to dissolve them before leaving the body. And therefore would out enough water, these waste can't be removed effectively and in return causing damage to out kidneys.
Water is also needed as explained in our digestive and metabolic system and it is needed to help carry oxygen and nutirnets to the cells. And also in the lungs, the tissue must be moistured before they can facilitate the intake of oxygen and the exhale of carbondioxide. As a lot of water is already lost through exhaling, it is necessary that the more active you are, the more water you need to consume.

Inadequate water consumption could lead to excess body fat, poor muslce tome, digestive disorder, poor functioning of the organs which includes the brain and even water retention!
Consuming quality water can also help in the slowing of the aging process and help prevent arthitis, kidney stones, constipation, obesity, diabetes and other diseases.
