Nutritional Guides

Keeping a diet that is rich in nutrients is the key to having good health. The following is a rough guide in achieving this.

Beans
Recommended : All beans cooked without animal fat or salt. ( except Soy )
Keep Away : Canned beans with added salt or preservatives or frozen beans

Beverages
Recommended : Herbal tea, Fresh Vegetable and/or fruit juices, Mineral water
Keep Away : Alcoholic drinks, coffee, cocoa, sweenten juices, sodas and tea ( except herbal tea )

Dairy Products
Recommended : Unsweetened Yogurt, Goat's milk, raw or skim milk, butter milk, raw goat cheese, kefir
Keep Away : All sft cheeses, all artifically coloured cheese products, Ice Cream

Eggs
Recommended : Boiled or poached ( but limit to intake of 4 weekly with reference to chicken eggs )
Keep Away : Fried or Pickled

Fish
Recommended : All freshwater white fish, salmon, broiled or baked fish
Keep Away : All fried fish, all shell fish, salted fish, canned fish

Fruits
Recommended : All fresh, frozen, stewed or dried fruits without sweeteners added ( except Oranges )
Keep Away : Canned, bottled or fruits with added sweeteners, *Oranges

Grains Recommended : All whole grains and products containing whole grains. ( eg. cereals, breads, whole-grain crackers, oat, brown rice, wild rice )
Keep Away : All white flour products, white rice, pasta, crackers, cold cereal, instant Oatmeal or any other instant cereal types

Meats
Recommended : Skinless turkey and chicken, Lamb
Keep Away : Beef, Pork, Duck, Goose ( Hot dogs, Luncheon Meat, Spare ribs, organ meats etc )

Nuts
Recommended : All fresh and raw nuts
Keep Away : All salted or roasted nuts. ( note : Peanuts if suffering from any disorder )

Oils (fats)
Recommended : All cold pressed oils like, Corn, Sesame, Olive etc
Keep Away : All saturated fats ( eg. Animal Fat )

Seasonings
Recommended : Garlic, onions, herbs, dried vegetables, seaweed, dulse
Keep Away : Black or White Pepper, salt ( in excessive amounts ), all types of vinegar except pure natural apple cidar vinegar

Soups
Recommended : Homemade ( Salt and fat free ) bean, pea, vegetable, brown rice or onion soup
Keep Away : Canned or instant soups with added salt or artificial perservatives and all cream soup

Sprouts and Seeds
Recommended : Slightly cooked sprouts except alfafa which should be taken raw after through washing
Keep Away : All seeds cooked in oil or salt

Sweets
Recommended : Barley malt or rice syrup, small amounts of honey, stevia
Keep Away : White, brown or raw cane sugar, all syrups, chocolate, sugar candy, fructose ( unless from whole fresh fruits ), all sugar substitutes, jams and jellies made with sugar

Vegetables
Recommended : All raw, fresh, frozen or home-canned vegetables that have no added salt and or undercook slightly
Keep Away : All canned or frozen with salt or added perservative or additives

IMPORTANT NOTE
Although some sodium ( salt ) is necessary for survival ( around 500mg a day ) excessive intake can cause hypertension, kidney failure, premenstrual syndrome etc etc.
Excessive intake of salt can also cause water retentation which acn caused like explain earlier high blood pressure.
