Micro Nutriens : Vitamins & Minerals

Micro nutrients are known as vitamins and minerals. These are essential to life, but are considered micro-nutrients because these are needed in relatively small amounts.

Intake of these micro-nutrients are formulated as per the recommended consumption levels by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) But these levels are presented in a intake level to maintain the borderline health of an average adult to prevent deficiency diseases.

Therefore an average person should obtain more than the recommended RDA by the FDA standards to maintain maximun health, especially applicable to those who exercise regularly, under a lot of stress, dieting, physically or mentally ill, women taking oral contraceptives, those under medication, smokers, alcoholics etc etc.

Note that these are usually seen on tablet formats for ease of consumption, but should never be regarded as medicine. Intake of specific vitamins, for example "C" could actually speed up phycial illness recovery as it aids our body in producing the necessary defenses against illnesses.
