Minerals Guide : Boron
Boron is needed in trace amounts for healthy bones and muscle growth and assists in the production of natural steroid compounds.
It is also necessary in the metablism of Calcium, phosphorus and magnesium where in the body it helps in the enhancement of brain functions, promotes alertness and also helps the body in utilization of eneragy from fats and sugars.
Most of us do not need additional intake of Boron, although elderly people would benefit from 2 to 3 mg of boron daily.
Caution not to take more than 6 mg unless prescribed by your doctor!
IMPORTANT NOTE : (Applies throughout the Mineral Guide section)
These minerals are not to be mistaken with those that are found in the school's chemistry labs and NO you cannot eat a rusty iron nail to get your daily iron intake.
